What I wore to the theatre

I remember as a child and teenager the theatre was always a treat and a time to dress up in our best clothes. These days that has changed, I love going to the theatre but it has become something of a norm rather than a treat, I guess that is one of the great things about living in London there is so much choice and it is usually possible to find something on offer! There is however still something special about seeing a live performance, though it no longer seems necessary to dress for the theatre, I am sure some people will disagree but for most including me this is not the case.

Last night I went to the theatre to see The Weir. The play is set in a small town Irish pub and features just five people, four local men and a lady who has moved down from Dublin. I'm still not sure how much I enjoyed it, whilst billed as a comedy there were some funny parts but in general it was quite dark, I often felt uncomfortable as if I was listening in on other people's conversations, but I guess that was the point of the play.

Dressed for the Theatre

So what did I wear? As you can see from the pictures I am fairly casual, the cardigan I bought a few years ago from Marks & Spencer, I really like it as its a bit different with pockets and a cord at the neck.

The jeans are again a few years old and are Sweetheart style purchased whilst on holiday in the States from Old Navy, they are similar to these:

And my shoes were a rediscovery in the back of my wardrobe last year, fed up with wearing trainers or converse when it wasn't warm enough for pumps and too warm for boots I remembered I had these, they are however starting to feel a bit past their best and I am loving some of the loafers in the shops at the moment, so much so that on the way to the theatre I popped into Dune and bought these Pink Leo Loafers. I haven't decided whether to keep them but I had seen them on the Mail Online a few weeks ago and fell in love with the colour so had to try them.
